Going Veggie – The 30-Day Guide to Becoming a Healthy Vegetarian is my very first cookbook and features over 30 delicious recipes for nutritious, tasty and satisfying vegetarian food, plus a wealth of information on becoming a healthy and happy vegetarian.
“Welcome to your journey into vegetarianism and the delicious world of vegetarian food. Within these pages you’ll find everything you need to become the vegetarian you want to be—including easy-to-understand information on vegetarian nutrition, useful hints and tips on making the switch and, most importantly, loads of recipes for nutritious, exciting, and delicious vegetarian food. Complete with a comprehensive 30-day meal guide, this book is for everyone, to be used every day, and it’s all about helping you become a healthy and happy vegetarian”
As with the blog, the book comes from this idea that vegetarian food is for everyone, whether you choose to be completely vegetarian or not. That it’s goes beyond ‘cutting out the meat’ and is far more connected with discovering and enjoying the rich and abundant world of plant-based food!
“Choosing to be a vegetarian is all about the positives: the positive impact a plant-based diet can have on your health, on your approach to food and conscious eating, and on opening the door to an amazing bounty of delicious and wholesome ingredients. Far more than simply cutting meat from your diet, being a vegetarian can be a positive change for life, and the very best vegetarian you can be is a healthy and happy one.”
Each chapter covers key elements to adopting a healthy vegetarian diet. From sourcing, storing and cooking with plant-based ingredients, to a quick guide on essential vitamins and minerals and which foods are the very best sources.
The book also includes lots of fun, real-world tips on kick starting a vegetarian lifestyle and navigating a meat-eating world with ease. With information on preparing quick, simply and healthy meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, plus a complete 30-Day Meal Plan, the book is a practical guide to adopting healthy and delicious vegetarian foods into your everyday life.
All the recipes are vegan, some with tips on including dairy and/or eggs if you prefer, and all feature full-sized photographs. There is a detailed glossary and each recipe includes hints and tips for preparation and serving. Over half the recipes are completely new and I did throw in a few old favourites from the blog as well.
It has been a fun and super exciting experience putting this book together and I’m so happy to finally be sharing it with you all!
